Thirty minutes prior to the next County Central Committee Meeting, our Legislative District will meet to elect the two additional Legislative District Committee members.
This is a departure from the established custom of appointing the additional two officers. We felt that it was better to have the Precinct Chairs and Vice-Chairs decide who these officers would be.
The positions that will be voted on are as follows:
1. Secretary/Communications Officer
* Takes minutes and attendance at all Legislative District (LD) meetings, clears these records with the LD Leadership and forwards the final draft to all members of the LD.
*Compiles a monthly newsletter, which includes a calendar of and information on current events and issues and a "Precinct Spotlight," detailing the leadership of and best practices used by the precincts in our LD.
*Takes care of all the technical needs of the LD, such as updating the blog, the LD 27 Facebook page and providing links to pertinent information. This officer should be a Web 2.0 facilitator.
2. Volunteer/Event Coordinator
*Gathers volunteers and secures venues for events within the Legislative District including, but not limited to: meetings, caucuses, meet the candidate nights, Get-Out-The-Vote drives, open houses for current Representatives, concealed carry permit classes, financial literacy classes, Robert's Rules classes and LD social events
*Gather volunteers and facilitate events as needed for the County Party officers such as voter registration drives in our LD, etc.

We will post all the information on applicants, for your review by Monday, October 5th. The info will be posted here and on the Facebook page, Utah Republican Legislative District 27.
Please arrive 30 minutes early (8:30 AM) to the Central Committee Meeting on Saturday, October 10, so that you can represent your precinct in this election of officers. We will meet in the lobby.
